Nestled among the Scottish Highlands and only 60 miles away from Glasgow Airport, this prominent private estate overlooks Loch Linnhe and the Morvern Mountains, offering a secluded retreat for those who are looking for more than just a hotel.
Built in 1884, The Eriska House is gracefully placed in the middle of the island, welcoming guests with its majestic Scottish Baronial style that beautifully mingles with the 49 acres of gardens. With 16 stylish rooms, the house is host to a blend of modern and traditional décor that extends to the morning and business rooms, the butler’s pantry and the conservatory, which altogether comprise the sophisticated dining area.
There’s nothing as exquisite as five-star service to make your visit a memorable one. With local and international staff, Isle of Eriska excels at mirroring the Scottish traits of politeness and friendliness. Let yourself be welcomed with a glass of champagne and enjoy the pre-Raphaelite works of art, as you make your way to enjoy their Afternoon Tea.
Perfect for anytime of the year, the conservatory is the ideal spot to delight your palette with savoury finger sandwiches and indulgent patisseries.
Presented in a classic three-tiered cake stand, the bottom section of this Afternoon Tea includes piquant bacon & chutney sandwiches and rich salmon & egg ones, both serving as a mere initiation to the most quintessential of British traditions. The second level offers freshly baked scones filled with raisins, accompanied with a rich strawberry jam and a luscious clotted cream. The top level and, possibly everyone’s favourite, is made up of sliced loaf cake with a leaking raspberry jam and the very much inviting fancies, culminating in a delightful experience. Enjoy it with a pot of leaf tea or a glass of champagne.
The ladies and gents who work at Eriska take enormous pride in their job, and will not hesitate to show you around the different spaces of the house, including the bar lounge, and although there’s an immense feeling of relaxation that is hard to ignore, don’t let it be mistaken for dullness. Guests at Isle of Eriska have plenty of opportunities to explore the leisure activities that it has to offer whether by going to the spa, exercising at the gym, having a swim in the heated pool or by having a game of Croquet.
This is the perfect place to spend a tranquil weekend away from work, to celebrate a special occasion or to simply treat yourself to one of the many wonders that Scotland has to offer. With marvelous views and incredible food, which has earned them a Michelin star, Isle of Eriska will make you reconnect with the most relaxed, yet stylish version of yourself.
Wander around the large gardens and take the view from the morning room before saying “See you soon” to this iconic estate and its impeccable staff, for there is no doubt that you will be back.
